The short version

PromptShelf stores your prompts locally in your browser. We run no servers, require no account, and collect no analytics, telemetry, or personal data. Your prompts are never transmitted anywhere.

What the extension stores

• Your prompt library — saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your device only.
• Your Pro license key (if you buy Pro) — also stored locally, used solely for verification.

The only network request

When you activate or periodically re-validate a Pro license, the extension sends your license key to Gumroad's public license verification endpoint (api.gumroad.com). No other data is included. Purchases themselves happen on Gumroad and are covered by Gumroad's privacy policy.

Permissions explained

• storage — to save your prompt library on your device.
• contextMenus — to offer "Save selection to PromptShelf" when you right-click selected text.
• Site access to AI chat sites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) — only to insert a prompt into the chat box when you click Insert. The extension does not read your conversations.

What we never do

• No selling, sharing, or transferring of user data to anyone.
• No use of data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single function.
• No tracking, ads, fingerprinting, or analytics of any kind.
